I just got back from the doc. Not much to report this week. I was on the monitor for nearly 90 minutes today!! At first, she wasn't moving like she normally does, then when she finally started moving to the doc's liking, her heart rate dropped to 80 for about 30 seconds!! Then he made me stay on for another 15 minutes! She was fine. He thinks that she just rolled onto the umbilical cord.
He changed things again today. Now we are going in at 7:30 AM on 3/17 instead of 6:00 PM. He wants to give me two ripening agents instead of one - hoping it will throw me into active labor sooner. So, he had the receptionist call the hospital and change my appointment. Then, on 3/11, I go for my final ultrasound. We'll see if he changes things again after that. Like I said before, if she is measuring too big, we will scrap the 17th and just do a c-section the 18th.
Work had a really nice shower for me on Friday. We got a lot of nice clothes and toys, plus quite a bit of money in various gift cards. I really do work with a lot of very generous and kind people!! I am very lucky!

35 Weeks
I went to the doctor this morning and things look good. I lost the 4.5 lbs I gained last week, so that's good. I must have been retaining water or something.
I am scheduled for the induction. She will actually be born on 3/18, NOT 3/17 like we planned. The doc is not on call on St. Patrick's Day. BUMMER! Vaughn wants me to just use his partner so we can have her on the 17th, but he doesn't understand that I prefer my own doctor as I have been seeing him regularly this entire pregnancy.
So, I get admitted into the hospital at 6:00 PM on Monday, 3/17 and they start the induction Tuesday morning. This is scheduled, so the only way it would change is if I have to have a c-section or she came early. I won't know until the week of the 10th if I need a c-section when I go for the ultrasound. If doc thinks I need one, then we will cancel my admission on Monday, 3/17 and just go in first thing in the morning on 3/18.
Everything else looks good. I am measuring normal, and my sugars have been good. Getting some back pain and nausea, but again, that is normal.
Take care!

The Room is Complete - Are we ready???

This weekend we got the window treatments, crib skirt and rug for Piper's room. It's all tied together so nicely! We are so happy with the room! I was worried about how Vaughn would like it, but he thinks it's dang cute!! I am attaching some pictures.
As for me, not much to report, maybe there will be an update tomorrow after I go to the doctor. This week I am 35 weeks. I am starting to get winded and lightheaded if I do too much at one time, and my nausea from the 1st trimester has come back. Though not as bad. The doc says that's normal. Technically, unless she comes early, Piper will be here 4 weeks from today! We are pretty much ready. This weekend we spent finishing the room and washing all of her clothes and blankets. There are still a few things we have to get, but we will hit the stores in the next two weekends.
I will be out of work for nearly 3 months, so I will send you all my personal email address. It's my company's policy (a new policy) that they disable employees access to the network while on FMLA. This is a bummer for me because anyone who knows me, knows I check work email in the evenings and on weekends, so to not be able to check it for three months, is going to be rough! I am sure I will be busy with the baby, but I sure will feel lost when I return to work.
I will post more tomorrow after my doctor appointment!

Erin Go Bragh!
Hello All!
I just got back from the doctor, and it looks like he is moving the induction date. We are now going to induce on March 17th! Yes, St. Patrick's Day!! It turns out the doc is planning a family vacation for later in the week, and we are absolutely thrilled!! Now, let's hope that he induces early enough in the day so she has time to arrive!!

Piper's Room Nearly Ready
Good Morning, Well, the room is almost complete. We are just waiting for the window treatments which are on backorder until March. We finished putting up the rest of the dots and the other canvas picture Sunday. My sister-in-law, Brittany made the coolest letters that spell out PIPER for the wall. Angie took pictures of those, along with the room, they are posted below.
I go for my next appointment today. We will have the induction day confirmed at that time. I can't believe that the longest I am going to have to wait to meet my daughter is 5 more weeks!! Wow, time flies!!

When will we get to meet Piper??
I saw my OB this morning. I asked him what he thought about scheduling an induction if she is too big, and he said that goes without question. As a practice, they do not let diabetics who are taking insulin reach 40 weeks. There is a risk of "shoulder something" on the baby. I can't remember what he said. Oh, and I will probably have a c-section. It depends on how big she gets. She is measuring a little big right now, but he did say they ALWAYS estimate high. They NEVER estimate low. She may come out and not be a big baby at all, that's just how it goes. I will have to go for another ultrasound at about 37 or 38 weeks. I will have her at 39 weeks. (Unless she comes sooner which is a possiblity as she is already as low as she can get)
Oh, so I guess I should tell you the dates: I will be induced on 3/19 or 3/21. Dr. Wittman has to see which day he is on call that week.
That's all I know at this point, will know more next week.
